Board of Directors

Outgoing

The two-year terms of seven members of the Foundation's Board of Directors expire at the end of this month. Three chose not to seek renomination after serving several terms each. The Foundation is grateful to Cathy Bokman, Kris Guido, and Eric Nelson for their service to the Foundation and, by extension, the Colonial Beach community.

Eric Nelson has served on the Board since 2016 and has served as Vice President of Member Engagement and President. We will miss his energy and ideas, but wish him well as he does more great things for Colonial Beach.

Kris Guido has been on the board since 2018 and has served as Secretary and on several committees. We will miss her skills, organization, and wit. Despite leaving the Board, we know she will continue to be a resource and supporter of Foundation projects.

Long-standing director Cathy Bokman will join original board member Peter Fahrney as Director Emeritus and continue to play a role in the Foundation. Emerita do not have a vote and cannot hold executive positions. They do, however, provide valuable advice, institutional memory, and guidance.

Incoming

Kay Blunt, Marcia Feldman, Michele Inderrieden, and Tom Tilt have been reelected to another two-year term, which begins in November. Also in November, the Foundation will welcome three new board members who bring a wealth of nonprofit and community foundation experience: Jack Finney, Billy Poarch, and Dan Wildman.

They all join these members who are in the middle of their two-year terms: Linda Brubaker, Debi Chedester, Alan Darlington, Joan Fitzpatrick, Joyce Gunderson, John Heath, Mary Larson, and Mitzi Saffos to make up the Foundation's Board of Directors. According to its by-laws, The Foundation can have 15 voting members.

Bingo!

Join us at Ice House Brewery (119 Monroe Bay Ave on the Point) for Bingo benefitting the Foundation's scholarship fund on Monday, October 30, at 6 PM. Come have a good time playing bingo while supporting our graduating students.

Ornaments

Our Town Pier and original LOVE Golf Cart ornaments may be purchased at Colonial Buzz Espresso and Wine Bar (234 Colonial Ave) and Beach Paws Boutique (116 Hawthorne St). Ornaments are $25 each; all net proceeds go the Foundation's Community Crisis Fund.
