Foundation Awards $16,000 to Area Food Pantries 2025

The Foundation is pleased to announce that its board approved $16,000 in grant funding to support local food pantries this holiday season—doubling last year’s award and bringing total support for area food pantries to more than $50,000 since 2020.

The following organizations received funding to purchase gift cards, helping clients obtain essential items not available through pantry services:

Colonial Beach United Methodist Church
First Baptist Church
Oak Grove Baptist Church
River of Life Pentecostal Church
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church
The Haven

2025 Grant Recipients

Thanks to the success of last year’s Northern Neck Beach Music Festival, the Colonial Beach Community Foundation proudly awarded $20,000 in grants to support projects that strengthen and uplift our town.

Here’s how those funds are making a difference:

Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department | $5,000 for specialized equipment for extraction and embankment rescues & $2,000 for fire prevention education in schools and the wider community
Colonial Beach Historical Society & Museum | $1,000 to enhance the garden area with outdoor seating, lighting, and other improvements
CB Creative | $1,000 for permanent signage
CB Greenspace | $1,200 for durable, waterproof educational signage
CB Community Center | $2,500 to support ballfield construction
CB United Methodist Church – Quarter Gym | $500 to purchase fitness equipment
WWER Radio | $3,113 to buy equipment for live broadcasts of local sports and community events
Colonial Beach Housing & Development Authority | $2,500 to assist with repairs to low-income, senior housing
Downtown Colonial Beach | $3,500 reserved for the Light Up the Night project, bringing festive lighting to downtown businesses to create a safer, more welcoming atmosphere
