News and Events
Welcome to May! It's the beginning of Colonial Beach's busy season and we're here for it.
Thank you to all who joined us at Muse in April for Dine for a Cause. Our community crisis fund is receiving $200 from Muse and we received $100 in other donations. This fund provides grants to local food pantries to support the purchase of grocery gift cards to their patrons. Our community is very generous!
Together We Thrive Raffle tickets are now available for purchase. Each ticket is $50 and we only sell 350. Winner takes home $5,000 guaranteed! The net proceeds this year go toward our Scholarship Fund.

Speaking of scholarships, board members Debi Chedester and Michele Inderrieden awarded scholarships to Willow Baker, Kaylynn Christensen, and Marta Cole. Each will receive $1,000 payable to their college account. It was a pleasure attending the annual scholarship dinner and recognizing the high school seniors.

Next meet up will be in September. More details to come.
Spring Grants Cycle
We received 11 grant applications and the grants committee has completed its review. The committee's recommendations will be presented to the Board of Directors on May 13. Once approved, the recipients will be notified.
This year we will award a total of up to $20,000 in grants based on the five strategic objectives that support our mission to "Improve the quality of life in and around Colonial Beach" through:
· Community Strength for Success
· Environment Protection and Beautification
· Health and Well-Being
· Quality of Life and Cultural Enhancement
· Youth Development and Education

We are looking for volunteers!
Do you have a knack for social media, websites, or creating eye-catching marketing materials? Our all-volunteer community foundation is looking for Marketing Committee Volunteers to help spread the word about the incredible work we do!
By donating your time and skills, you’ll help us:
· Manage social media to engage our community
· Create compelling materials that showcase our mission
We are also looking for people interested in helping with Fundraising and Events committees.
You don't need to be a member of the Board of Directors. We welcome the community to participate.
Your efforts will support local initiatives and make a real difference. If you're passionate about giving back, we need YOU!
