Safety Grants, Part Two
More Community Safety Grants Awarded
Using proceeds from last year's Beach Music Festival, the Foundation has earmarked funds to support community safety projects. We have invited our local nonprofits to think about what safety means to them and our community, and spearhead projects that promote safety and well-being.
This month, we are pleased to announce that we will award the Town of Colonial Beach $1,800 to purchase, install, and maintain a beach access mat.
Last month, we announced awards to WWER 88.1 to provide backup generators that ensure the station stays on the air and online during power outages and emergencies; and Riverkeepers Network to support regular water testing.
We might have a final announcement next month...
NNK Beach Music Festival

We're Getting Close...
The Foundation's flagship fundraiser -- the Northern Neck Beach Music Festival -- is less than one month away. Don't let this opportunity to spend an afternoon enjoying good food, beverages, and music by The Catalinas, the Feature Attraction Band, and Motown Butta pass you by.
Get Your Tickets Soon
To join us Saturday, September 9, on Town Hill, you can purchase tickets online with a credit card or at participating local businesses with cash or check (payable to Colonial Beach Community Foundation). Go to our festival webpage for details. Hurry; the early bird online price ends August 20.
Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to staff the welcome/registration tables. If you can work a two-hour shift, please email us and type Festival Volunteer in the subject line.
Building Community Raffle
Don't forget your Building Community Raffle ticket since you'll be at the festival when the winning ticket is drawn. You could leave the festival $5,000 richer. See graphic below.

Our Building Community Raffle has become an annual event, coinciding with the NNK Beach Music Festival.
New Board Member
The Foundation welcomes Debi Chedester to our Board of Directors.

Congratulations, BAMM!
Recently, BAMM -- Beach Arts, Music, and Mentoring -- received its 501(c)3 designation. Once under the umbrella of the Foundation, BAMM is now its own fiduciary agent; therefore, we can no longer accept donations on BAMM's behalf. We congratulate BAMM on its successes in their good work supporting our teachers and students. Though no longer under our umbrella, we still consider BAMM one of our valuable community partners who share our values and affection for Colonial Beach.
