Colonial Beach Community Foundation Announces Spring 2026 Grant Awards

COLONIAL BEACH, VA — The Colonial Beach Community Foundation (CBCF) recently awarded more than $19,000 in grants to support community programs, public safety, environmental stewardship, education, and quality-of-life initiatives throughout the 22443 zip code.

The following organizations received funding during the Foundation’s spring grant cycle:

  • Colonial Beach Baptist Church received $1,200 to purchase two benches and a trash can for installation along Monroe Bay, providing residents and visitors with a comfortable place to enjoy the waterfront views and sunsets.

  • Coming to the Table received $1,500 to support youth education programs, workshops, and essay contests.

  • Colonial Beach Volunteer Fire Department received $8,000 to update radar equipment on Fire Boat 1, enhancing emergency response and public safety capabilities on the water.

  • Downtown Colonial Beach received $4,825 for the development of interactive maps and kiosks highlighting local attractions and providing fun and engaging wayfinding resources for residents and visitors.

  • Potomac Riverkeeper Network received $3,000 for water quality testing materials and educational outreach efforts focused on protecting the Potomac River and surrounding waterways.

  • The Haven received $600 to purchase ring cameras for domestic abuse survivors living in the 22443 zip code.

“The Foundation is proud to support organizations and projects that directly benefit our community,” said Dan Wildman, president of the Colonial Beach Community Foundation. “These grants help strengthen public spaces, improve safety, support education, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents throughout our area.”

The Colonial Beach Community Foundation evaluates grant applications twice each year. Funding decisions are based on available funds and how well applications align with the Foundation’s mission, goals, and strategic priorities, including youth development and education, environmental protection and beautification, health and well-being, quality of life and cultural enhancement, and community strength for success.

Eligible applicants include qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and public entities located within or directly serving the 22443 zip code.

Spring grants are funded through proceeds from the Northern Neck Beach Music Festival, while fall grants are funded through the Community Crisis Fund, which generally focuses on supporting local food pantries and emergency assistance efforts.
