Food Pantries
Earlier this year we launched our Food Pantries Fundraiser to help our local food pantries meet an increased need due to COVID-19. Thanks to a donations from the Foundation ($5,000) and neighbors like you ($7,408), we exceeded our goals.
Now, months later, most of those have been expended. However, the need is still there and, of course, the holidays are upon us.
Please follow the link below to support our food pantries and help a family in need this holiday season; or, mail a check to CBCF, P. O. Box 375, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. Note "food pantries" on the memo line.
CB Community Distributes Backpacks
Beach Arts, Music, & Mentoring (BAMM) recently supported the annual backpack and school supplies drive spearheaded by Sher Lee and her CB Kids organization. BAMM donated 121 backpacks and members of the Colonial Beach community provided supplies to go in them. We thank everyone who dropped off supplies or donated funds. In all, 150 backpacks were disturbed to Colonial Beach families.
BAMM Awards Scholarships
Five Colonial Beach High School seniors received a total of $2,500 in scholarships from Beach Arts, Music, & Mentoring (BAMM), through the Foundation, to help with their continuing education. Anastasia Harrower, Garrett Mothershead, Kennedy Muse, Madilyn Newlon, and Abigail Stone each received $500.
Food Pantry Fundraiser
Recently, the Foundation donated $5,000 to support our local food pantries and organized a fundraiser to match that amount. With so many people out of work due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the food pantries are seeing an increase in customers.
We are honored and humbled to tell you that, within just a few weeks, the Colonial Beach community has exceeded our goal. The matching fund is over $7,300. Thank you all! That means that the total amount raised for the food pantries exceeds $12,000.
We are leaving the fundraiser open because we expect an ongoing need into the foreseeable future. Please follow the link below to support our food pantries; or, mail a check to CBCF, P. O. Box 375, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. Note "food pantries" on the memo line.
Compendium of Services Providers
The Foundation has compiled a compendium of organizations in the area that provide services to those in need, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Use the button below to review and download the compendium. Please share it with others who might benefit from knowing about these organizations and the services they provide.
Give to the Colonial Beach Community Foundation.
We beg your pardon as we revise our website...
We have recently moved our website to a new platform and revised its design and content. However, we are not quite finished. So, you will see a few areas here and there that are still "under construction." Please check back with us often as we complete those areas and add others.
